BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — Tropical Storm Hilary has reached Southern California and is bringing large amounts of rain to Kern County, especially the mountain and desert communities.
Multiple flash flood warnings have been issued by the National Weather Service. Forecasters said the rains may produce “catastrophic flooding” in some areas.

Kern County officials have issued an evacuation and shelter in place orders for the Sand Canyon area east of Tehachapi.
