Temperatures will remain well above normal in Kern County all through the weekend. There will be a slight cool-down by the middle of next week.
The runoff from melting snowpack is ongoing and water levels in Lake Isabella will continue to rise steadily.
There may be a few thunderstorms in the Sierra Nevada this afternoon and each afternoon Saturday through the middle of next week. The air quality will be unhealthy for sensitive groups tomorrow.
