After more than 60 years of serving up choice cuts of meat, the Wood-Dale Market expanded into Southwest Bakersfield with a second store this weekend.
The popular, family-owned market opened a second store on Ming Avenue last week.
Store manager Chris Vasquez says its first weekend was “tremendous” and even had a visit from Congressman Kevin McCarthy.
The Ming Avenue location isn’t replacing the original, however. Vasquez says they wanted to grow with the city, and the Southwest was just the area to do it.
“This side of town is growing and it’s growing at a rapid pace,” Vasquez said. “A lot of people were asking for it this side of town so when we had the opportunity we jumped on it.”
You can find the new store at 11420 Ming Avenue. The original is where its always been for the last six decades, on Stine Road.
