Some Kern County women celebrated the new year by becoming moms on Jan. 1.
Sade Wilson had a new boy enter the family Monday morning. Jaysisdiah Lee was born just before 3:30 a.m. at Adventist Health.
Wilson said her heart “just melted” when she held him in her hands for the first time. The boy is her fourth child.
“It’s like having my first baby again,” she said.
Jaysisdiah was not only born on New Year’s Day, but was also the first baby born in 2018 at Adventist Hospital.
At Memorial Hospital, Mercedes Macias gave birth to her first child, Ximena Aguilar, at around 1 a.m.
Ximena was expected at the end of the month, but instead, she arrived at the very start of the year.
“My brother on the way over … said ‘You might have a New Year’s baby.’ I thought, ‘Oh no!’ Media sensation,” Macias said.
Along with babies Jaysisdiah and Ximena, Adrian Jorge Morfin was born to Samantha Traffanstedt just before 4 a.m.
Adrian is Samantha’s first child as well after 38 hours of labor.
She tells future moms to be very patient and take all the advice that you can.
