A woman was sentenced to three years probation for a car accident that killed a little girl in Southwest Bakersfield last year.

Emily Guillen-Casillas, 5, died in November of 2017 after being struck by a vehicle driven by Marina Cambray at the intersection of California Spring Drive and Harris Road in Southwest Bakersfield.

Guillen-Casillas’ grandmother was also struck, but survived, losing a leg.

Cambray pleaded no contest to misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter on Thursday. In exchange, her misdemeanor charge of driving without a license was dropped.
