Woman found dead in Southeast Bakersfield home died of blunt head injuries, coroner says

The death of a 66-year-old woman whose body was found last week in a Southeast Bakersfield home is now being investigated as a homicide.

The Kern County Coroner’s Office said Suzanne Hill-Martindale died of blunt head injuries. Her body was found ina home in the 5300 block of Malaga Road on June 27 by Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies.

Hill-Martindale’s death is the 57th homicide in Kern County according to a 17 News count.
