WANTED: Man accused of stabbing 17-year-old in South Bakersfield

Kern County Sheriff’s Office has identified a 21-year-old man accused of stabbing a teen earlier this month in South Bakersfield.

Officials issued an arrest warrant for Emmanuel Maldonado, of Bakersfield, for assault with a deadly weapon and child abuse, KCSO announced Thursday.

On Aug. 8 just after 10 p.m., KCSO was called to the 2600 block of Belle Terrace for a report of a person bleeding in a yard. Deputies found an 17-year-old man lying in a yard stabbed multiple times, according to KCSO.

The victim sustained major injuries, according to officials.

The sheriff’s office continues investigating.

Anyone with information on Maldnado’s whereabouts is asked to call the Kern County Sheriff’s Office  at 861-3110 or the Secret Witness line at 322-4040.
