Update: Woman shot inside vehicle at Fastrip, by relative


Update: The woman shot in her car at a local Fastrip Gas Station was shot in the back by a relative. 

A woman was shot while sitting in the drivers seat of her car at the Fastrip on Ming Avenue and S. Real Road on Thrusday afternoon. 

The firearm was fired by a teenage boy and relative of the woman from within the car, according to the Bakersfield Police Department. 

Police are still doing investigations to determine whether or not the gunshot was an accident. 

The woman was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to BPD.

Bakersfield police say a woman was shot inside her vehicle at the Fastrip parking lot in southwest Bakersfield.

Officers responded to the gas station on Ming Avenue and S. Real Road just before 1:30 p.m. for a report of a woman with a gunshot wound.

BPD says the woman was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

Bakersfield police are still investigating how the shooting happened, but say they are not looking for a gunman.

Several people have been detained, but no arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, according to BPD.
