Previous story:

A Delano man has died and another person sustained major injuries following a three vehicle crash on Friday.

Just before 11 p.m. California Highway Patrol officers responded to southbound Highway 99, just south of Highway 155.

The initial crash left a car blocking the number one lane and two cars parked on the shoulder of Highway 99.

Officials say one of the drivers, a 19-year-old man from Delano, pulled over to the shoulder and proceeded to walk to the center median.

Another car traveling south on Highway 99 tried to avoid the car blocking the number one lane and as a result struck the Delano man and another male in the center divider.

The teenager died at the scene.

The coroners office will release the name of the Delano man.

CHP said it does not appear that drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.
