A man who was hit by a train while said to be chasing after his dog died of his injuries.
Union Pacific Railroad officials said a train struck and killed the man at around 7:50 p.m. Sunday near Airport Drive and Golden State Highway in Oildale.
Friends and family identified the man killed to 17 News as Joshua Edwards.
Union Pacific Railroad police continue to investigate the deadly collision.
Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies said Sunday the man was chasing after his dog before the collision.
Just last month, a 58-year-old man was killed by a train in the same area.
