UPDATE: KCSO says all telephone services have been restored in Eastern Kern County

UPDATE (8:30 p.m., March 24, 2019): KCSO says all telephone services have been restored in eastern Kern County.

UPDATE (March 24, 2019): California City police said telephone service to its department has been restored and its 911 center is operational.

Ridgecrest police said phone service is back on at its department, but 911 service is not. If you have an emergency in Ridgecrest, call 760-499-5100.

Frontier and AT&T continue to have phone outage, according to the Kern County Sheriff’s Office.

KCSO said the outage affects landline and cellphone for residents in much of East Kern County, including portions of the Kern Valley communities, Ridgecrest, China Lake, California City and Boron.

Users may not be able to reach 911 in the event of an emergency, however it may be possible to use the Text to 911 feature on cell phones, according to KCSO.

There is not an estimated time of repair at this time.
