UPDATE (4:15 p.m.): Two hikers who went missing Tuesday were found Tuesday afternoon by Kern County Search and Rescue crews.
KCSO officials said the hikers were found five miles north of Highway 58 on the Pacific Crest Trail.
Both of the hikers ran out of water, but one of them suffered from dehyrdration and heat exhaustion.
The hikers did not need further medical aid, officials said.
Kern County Search and Rescue teams are looking for at least two hikers near Tehachapi.
Two people called 911 on Tuesday around 10 a.m. saying they were lost north of Highway 58 and east of Sand Canyon, Kern County Sheriff’s Office. The hikers said their cell phone was dying.
The hikers told emergency officials they didn’t have water but don’t need medical aid, according to KCSO.
Officials are responding to the area to locate the hikers.
