UPDATE: 17-year-old arrested in Fastrip theft, robbery

UPDATE (March 2, 2018): Bakersfield police arrested a 17-year-old in connection to a theft and robbery at the Fastrip in the 4900 block of South Union Avenue on Feb. 14 and Feb. 15. 

Bakersfield police said they made the arrest on Feb. 28. The 17-year-old was booked into Juvenile Hall for robbery.

Bakersfield police are looking for a man suspected of theft and armed robbery within hours at the same convenience store.

Police say the man entered the Fastrip at 4901 South Union Ave. just before midnight on Valentine’s Day took an item and left without paying for it.

Then, hours later, just after 2:15 a.m. on Feb. 15, the same man came back to the same store, but with a gun. According to police, the man pointed the gun at a clerk, demanded money and took off.

The man is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 23 years old, standing 5 feet 9 inches, wearing a black shirt and a possible tattoo on the top of his left hand.
