Two people arrested after body found in Southwest Bakersfield apartment

Bakersfield Police Department arrested two suspects in the killing of a man whose body was found in a Southwest Bakersfield apartment earlier this week.

Louie Perez, 45, was arrested at the scene of the crime, according to BPD. During the investigation, police obtained a search warrant for a second suspect. Daniel Animas, 36.  Animas was located and arrested at a home in Shafter on Thursday morning, according to police.

On Dec. 4, officers were called to the 1400 block of McDonald Way just after 8 p.m.  Bakersfield police Sgt. Christopher Feola said the body of a man, possibly between the ages of 18 and 30, was found inside an apartment.

The victim was not identified, and police did have not provided details about how the man died.
