Two men wanted in Haley Street deadly shooting

Update: The Kern County Coroner’s Office has identifed the innocent bystandard killed as Manuel Sanchez Figueroa.

Two men are wanted and two arrests have been made in connection with Thursday’s shooting that left an innocent man dead in the 1600 block of Haley Street in East Bakersfield.

Elias Maldonado, 18, and Antonio Maldonado, 21, are wanted in connection to the murder of an innocent bystander during the shooting.

Both Elias and Antonio have outstanding warrants for murder, attempted murder, conspiracy and gang participation, according to BPD. 

Officers also arrested Analee Garcia, 18, and Jose Bravo, 32, for assisting and concealing a felon during the investigation. 

According to BPD, the incident was in result of a conflict between two groups of individuals at an apartment complex in the area of Quincy and Haley streets in East Bakersfield and escalated into gunfire from both groups.

An innocent bystander, not involved in the conflict, was shot and killed. Bakersfield police described the victim as a 50-year-old man. 

The other victims from the incident are still being investigated on their involvement.
