Two men accused in murder of 3-year-old boy speak

News

Three people accused of killing 3-year-old Major Sutton in a suspected gang shooting are scheduled to appear in court this week.

17 News spoke with two of them on Saturday night.

“Why would I harm kids? That doesn’t make any sense. They’re trying to throw a jacket on me that does not fit”, said David Palms.

“To be accused of something like this I don’t know how to feel. I don’t know how to take it. But like to know that this is happening in our community with our children. It’s really like we shouldn’t be here we should find somewhere else to live. It’s not the place to raise children”, said Tyrone Johnson.

Both Palms and Johnson said they were nowhere near the apartment that November night. Neighbors reported two masked men breaking into a Central Bakersfield apartment in November and opening fire on a pregnant mother and her two children.

29-year-old Myeisha Dale is also accused in the murder and she denied our request for an interview.

All three suspects are being held without bail.
