Two killed, including 12-year-old girl, in Cal City shooting

Two people are dead after a Sunday night shooting in California City.

The victims of the double homicide have been identified as Trinity Wiggins, 12, and Michael Wiggins, 39, both of Cal City, according to police.

Cal City officers responded to reports of multiple people shot around 7:30 p.m. in the 9000 blk of Lupine Loop at Corwin Ave, according to police.

One of the victims was pronounced dead on scene, the other was transported to the hospital where they died, according to police.

California City police issued an alert encouraging people to look out for two black men.

On Monday evening, California City police released the name and picture of a man they suspect to be involved in the shooting. Police are looking for 32-year-old Desmond Perry.

Police say he used a rifle and opened fire. He is described as standing 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds.

Witnesses in the area describe the suspect vehicle as a 2009-2010 Black Nissan Altima with a license plate “6KDV172.”
