Officials identified two people killed in a head-on crash Wednesday morning near 7th Standard Road and Magnolia Avenue.
Hodari Toussaint Cooper Jr, 20, was driving a white SUV east on 7th Standard Road when his car drifted into the westbound lanes and slammed head-on into a big rig, according to officials. He died on scene.
His 13-year-old passenger, Hakiam Cooper, suffered major injuries. He was transported to Kern Medical where he later died.
The two are residents of Martinez, Calif, according to the coroner.
The roadway at Magnolia Avenue and 7th Standard Road was completely blocked Wednesday morning following a head-on fatal crash, according to California Highway Patrol.
In total, three passengers were transported to the hospital, according to CHP. No word on how the other two are doing. The truck driver was not injured.
Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor, according to CHP.
