Bakersfield police are investigating the cause of a two-car collision that hospitalized three people Wednesday afternoon.
The crash happened at the intersection of South H Street and Calcutta Drive just before 3:30 p.m.
Bakersfield police said four people were involved in the collision. The three injured were taken to Kern Medical with injuries described as “moderate to major.”
Two passengers in one of the vehicles needed to be rescued by Bakersfield fire crews.
A Bakersfield police officer at the scene said speed, drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision.
The intersection at South H Street and Calcutta Drive was closed for the investigation.
