Tehachapi student arrested after making school shooting threat

A Tehachapi High School student was arrested after making a threat over the phone to “shoot up” the school, according to Tehachapi police. 

On March 25, police were notified by an unidentified caller that the suspect made a call to “shoot up” the school and indicated he was in possession of firearms and ammunition.

Tehachapi Police Department investigated the reported threat and quickly identified the caller as a 16-year-old Tehachapi High School student from Bear Valley Springs, according to police. 

The juvenile suspect was arrested for criminal threats and transported to juvenile hall, according to police.

Officers searched the suspect’s home and did not locate any firearms or ammunition.
