Tehachapi police arrested two people accused of running a drug lab and possessing high-powered weapons Wednesday.
Police arrested Kenneth Hignite, 35, and Karen Qual, 32, after police served a search warrant at a home in the 200 block of Meadowbrook Court in Tehachapi.
Wednesday afternoon, investigators found methamphetamine, marijuana, drug parapernalia inside the home. They also found a cannabis lab inside, according to a statement from police.
Officials also found weapons including a high-powered rifle, a homemade shotgun, several homemade silencers and multiple rounds of ammunition.
Hignite and Qual were arrested and booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Central Receiving Facility. The two face weapons and narcotics charges including maintaining a home for the purpose of narcotics sales and child endangerment.
Hignite’s bail was set at $112,500 while bail for Qual was set at $127,500.
Hignite and Qual are both due in court Friday morning in Mojave.
