A 14-year-old boy was arrested after an alleged threat against Freedom Middle School circulated on social media earlier this week, according to Bakersfield Police Department.
A concerned parent sent 17 News a screenshot of the post that appeared on Snapchat Tuesday.
In it, students are told they will get shot if they go to Freedom Middle School on April 11.
Rosedale School District Superintendent John Mendiburu told 17 News via email that the district takes all threats seriously.
He added law enforcement was notified and there was heightened security on campus.
