Team USA donates to Woolsey Fire victims

News

Members of Team USA visited a group of Agoura Hills high school athletes on Monday.

Olympic wrestling medalist Jordan Burroughs, two-time olympic freestyle ski champion David Wise, brother-sister medalists Alex and Maia Shibutani, and a group of Olympic hopeful softball athletes from team USA were all there to support the student-athletes.

The Olympians didn’t show up empty handed, they gifted the high school some brand new gear.

The destructive Woolsey Fire tore through the hills surrounding the high school, leveling the shed containing much of their equipment.

It caused about 95 percent of families in the district to be evacuated.

Schools were closed for a long period of time, and more than 100 families lost their homes, with more than 200 students are still out of their homes.
