A surfer is recovering after being attacked by a shark at Montaña de Oro State Park on Tuesday.
The attack reportedly happened around 10 in the morning and just 100 yards offshore, as reported by KSBY, our NBC affiliate in SLO.
California State Parks say the surfer was able to swim to the shore and get to a local hospital on his own. No word on his condition.
A photo has surfaced on Instagram, allegedly showing the size of the bite on the surfboard.
