Students raise money for AP test by hosting art exhibit

News

A Bakersfield gallery is showcasing the works of local high school students.

The money raised at the South High School Geometrix Exhibit will help AP Calculus students pay for their AP exam in May.

On Saturday, Feb. 17, there will be a special event where you can buy the students’ art for just $10 a piece.

Jennifer Azanar says her art is based on some advice she got from a teacher.

“A teacher once told me it’s better to think with your heart rather than your brain, but also be careful with your emotions.”  Azanar said.

The Empty Space gallery is located at 706 Oak Street. The exhibit is open every Friday and Saturday from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
