Story of shelter dog finding forever home is told in new book

News

A new book is out about a dog saved from the Kern County Animal Shelter.

“Indy, Oh Indy” is the fictional story of a real-life terridoodle named Indy as she wanders the streets of Bakersfield in search of her forever family.

Local author Teresa Adamo teamed up with illustrator Jennifer Williams-Cordova to bring the book to life.

Adamo says the work is an ode to the sweet shelter dog and a loving tribute to Bakersfield.

A portion of the book’s proceeds will be donated to the shelter as well as the Bakersfield SPCA.

The book costs $10 and is available at indyohindy.com.
