SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The international terminal at San Francisco International Airport (SFO) was evacuated Friday night due to a bomb threat, the San Francisco Police Department confirmed.

A man was detained after the incident. The airport has since resumed normal operations. “Officers on scene located a suspicious package and deemed the item possibly incendiary,” SFPD said.

SFPD first learned of the threat at approximately 8:15 p.m. The international terminal was evacuated “out of an abundance of caution.” By 11:50 p.m. SFPD officers had searched several areas in the SFO International Terminal. The SFPD EOD Unit removed multiple “suspicious packages” from the airport.
