UPDATE (4:30 p.m.): Caltrans says CHP is releasing on northbound traffic stuck on I-5, six to seven cars at a time to avoid further collisions.
There is no update for a full re-opening of northbound and southbound lanes.

Interstate-5 is closed in both directions over the Grapevine due to snowy conditions, California Highway Patrol confirmed.
The closure was reported just before noon on Monday and impacts Laval Road to Parker Road in Castaic, per CHP.
CHP said Highway 138 to Lancaster is also closed.
