Two people were arrested, overnight, in Downtown Bakersfield, after police received reports of shots fired.

On Sunday, just after one a.m., the Bakersfield Police Department responded to shots fired in the area of 21st Street and Eye Street.

Witnesses say the suspects fled in a silver Honda Accord.

Police located the vehicle and conducted a routine traffic stop, just two blocks away, in the area of 21st Street and K Street.

Police say a search of the vehicle revealed a loaded, concealed firearm. And, BPD found casings at 19th Street and Eye Street.

Officers say those casings were consistent with the ammunition located inside the firearm found in the vehicle.

According to witness, the suspect fired the gun into the air. No victims were located.

Johnny Coronado, 26, was arrested for several firearms related violations, and the driver of the vehicle, Lorence Garcia, 24, was determined to be DUI and was also taken into custody.
