Sheriff’s office search for suspect in East Bakersfield sexual assault of young boy

Kern County Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for help finding a man in connection to the sexual assault of a young boy Saturday.

The sheriff’s office released a photo of a vehicle believed used by the man to lure the boy near Niles Street and Horace Mann Avenue on Saturday morning at around 11:15 a.m.

Investigators say the boy was then driven to a remote location in East Bakersfield where he was sexually assaulted. The boy was able to escape and find help nearby, officials said.

The man is described to be Hispanic between 50 and 60 years old. He is described as standing between 5 feet, 6 inches and 5 feet, 7 inches tall weighing about 140 pounds with a thin mustache, beard. He was wearing a black hat, sunglasses with a black and white shirt and gray jeans.

The sheriff’s office said this vehicle was used to lure a young boy before he was sexually assaulted. It is described as a late model white extended cab Ford truck pulling a red gardening style trailer.
