Sheriff’s deputies seize guns, $140K worth of drugs in sting

Kern County sheriff’s deputies found the drugs and guns they were looking for in a sting Monday.

The sheriff’s office said deputies arrested 55-year-old Cain Barrera-Ambriz after conducting a search warrant in the 3000 block of Potomac Avenue.

According to a release from the sheriff’s office, deputies found:

  • 12 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 29 pounds of marijuana
  • 26 grams of heroin, 
  • three handguns – including a stolen one.
  • A high-capacity drum magazine for an AR-15
  • A modified AR-15

The seized drugs had an estimated street value of $140,000.

Barrera-Ambriz was booked into the Central Receiving Facility.
