September is Pedestrian Safety Month and law enforcement is reminding everyone to take precautions on the roads.
Police remind pedestrians to use crosswalks, make eye contact with drivers and never assume they can see you.
Drivers are, as always, urged to remain alert and be on the lookout for pedestrians.
Pedestrian deaths are on the rise in California and across the country. Over the past three years, the city of Bakersfield has seen 47 pedestrians killed and another 473 hurt.
