Maya cinemas hosted a special sensory-friendly showing of “Incredibles 2” Saturday, designed to offer a more relaxed experience for attendees with special needs.
The movie’s volume was lower than a standard showing, and theater lights were turned up.
“I understand that sometimes, you know, kids might be a little animated and excited,” said Michael Anthony, who took his twin sons to the showing. “So, an event like this is perfect because when we watch a movie like this, you know, we’re going to hear kids throughout the movie laughing, dancing. That’s OK… It’s very important for families to get together and enjoy time with their children.”
The showing was free for all guests with special needs, and $3 for anyone else who joined them, the theater said.
