A crash on Highway 178 shut down the canyon to clean up bales of hay off the road.
The crash involving a semi tuck happened at around 8 p.m. about two miles into the canyon from Bakersfield.
According to CHP, a semi was pulled a double trailer loaded with hay, when it lost control and rolled over.
The trailers spilled bales of hay, each weighing about 1,500 pounds. Hay was strewn all over the road and down the embankment.
No one was injured in the crash.
As of 11 p.m. Caltrans closed traffic at the canyon to clean up the rest of the hay.
