A Mexican restaurant in Rosamond was closed by the public health department after failing a health inspection.

Health inspectors found multiple food preparation issues at Sal’s Mexican Restaurant on Sierra Highway, according to the Kern County Public Health Services Department.

The inspectors cited food being stored at unsafe temperatures, and meat being thawed improperly, along with cooks preparing raw pork next to finished meals.

The complete health inspection report is available on the health department’s website.
