Rusty’s Pizza on Olive Drive is re-open and serving pizza after cleaning up its act following a rat infestation.

County public health officials said Rusty’s Pizza at 5430 Olive Drive re-opened Monday.

Michelle Corson of Kern County Public Health said management cooperated and fulfilled the county’s requirements needed to re-open.

A county food inspection report dated Feb. 12 said the restaurant’s previous violations have been corrected. The restaurant scored an 87 percent — a “B” rating — on the inspection.

The restaurant was closed by county health officials on Jan. 30 after health inspectors found a live rat in a storage room.
