A repertoire of reptiles were on display in Downtown Bakersfield as Kern County Libraries continued its 2018 Summer Reading Challenge. 

Roaming Reptiles brought a plethora of snakes, lizards, and turtles to the Beale Memorial Library on Truxtun Avenue Saturday morning.

Two more Roaming Reptiles events are scheduled for 3 p.m. July 14 at the library on Ming Avenue and 3 p.m. July 16 at the library on Wilson Road.

The educational event is part of the 2018 Summer Reading Challenge, which encourages local kids and adults to log their reading time in order to receive rewards, including free books.
