Rally highlights ongoing problem of human trafficking in Kern County

News

January is Human Trafficking Awareness Month and a rally in Downtown Bakersfield highlighted the existence of one of the world’s fastest growing crimes.

The rally took place at the Liberty Bell in Downtown just hours after county supervisors issued a proclamation in recognition of Human Trafficking Awareness Month in Kern County.

The goal is to remind everyone that human trafficking is happening here at home and there is help for people victimized by this crime.

To report possible crimes related to human trafficking, you can call the human trafficking hotline number at 1-888-373-7888.
