The fate of the remains of convicted murderer Charles Manson will be decided in a Kern County courtroom.
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge ruled Friday Kern County has jurisdiction on who has rights to possession of Manson’s body. That battle is being fought by several including Manson’s grandson and a 30-year pen pal of Manson.
The hearing on Manson’s body is scheduled for Jan. 31 in Kern County Superior Court.
Other probate hearings — including determining who controls Manson’s estate — will continue in Los Angeles County.
Manson died in a Bakersfield hospital on Nov. 19, 2017.
