Police on scene of deadly stabbing in Downtown Bakersfield

Bakersfield Police Department is on scene of a deadly stabbing in Downtown Bakersfield.

The call came in about 4:42 a.m. Wednesday with reports of a male laying in the street, not breathing, near V and 19th streets, according to Bakersfield Police’s Watch Commander.

The man was found with multiple stab wounds in the upper body, according to police on scene.

Police do not have suspect information at this time.

The intersection will be closed as police investigate the stabbing.

This deadly stabbing is the third stabbing to take place overnight.

The first stabbing happened at El Patron Bar and Grill where the victim suffered moderate injuries. The second stabbing occurred around 10:30 p.m. at the Bakersfield Lodge on Union Avenue. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he died.
