Police: Elderly victim tortured during Christmas Eve home invasion robbery

Bakersfield police are looking for three men suspected of torturing an elderly person during a home invasion robbery on Christmas Eve.

Police said three men broke into a home in the 300 block of South Haley Street on Christmas Eve at around 11 p.m. They say the three men brandished a weapon at the elderly resident and demanded money.

During the robbery, according to police, the three robbers assaulted and tortured the victim over several hours. The three men eventually fled with valuables from the home.

Police only described the three suspects as Black adult males. One was wearing a mask and a gray hooded sweatshirt. 

Police are also looking for two people they say tried to use the victim’s bank card at a pharmacy on Rosedale Highway. Police are looking for the the man and woman for questioning.

Police described the woman as being between 30 and 40 years old, with light brown hair, wearing a dark-colored jacket and black pants.

Anyone with information on the case or the identities of the two people is asked to call Bakersfield police at 327-7111.
