Suspected carjackers led police on a chase early Tuesday morning.

The crime was reported at about 3:15 a.m. in the area of Fairfax Road and Panorama Drive.

The victim described five young suspects and said they had a gun.

Police say they found the car nearby and were led on a brief pursuit ending at La Costa Street and University Avenue.

Police arrested the driver and took him to Kern County Juvenile Hall accused of carjacking and robbery.

Then police say they discovered the suspects were originally in — a black Toyota Camry — was stolen in a separate carjacking Monday near Columbus and Oswell streets.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to call Bakersfield police at 327-7111.
