One of the men suspected of an armed robbery at a South Bakersfield restaurant and wounded by police gunfire has been arrested, Bakersfield police said.

Bakersfield police said they arrested 20-year-old Christopher Salazar for three counts of robbery, gang participation and conspiracy after he was released from a hospital following the officer-involved shooting on Thursday night.

Salazar and another man are accused of an armed robbery at the La Villa restaurant at 700 Planz Road. An officer who happened to be on patrol in the area, fired at the suspects in front of the restaurant as they tried to get away, according to police.

Police said a second suspect is recovering at a hospital and has not been questioned.

Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to call Bakersfield police at 327-7111.

Salazar is being held on $230,000 bail and is due in court on Tuesday according to an Kern County inmate database.
