A plea deal has been reached in the case of a Bakersfield man accused of setting a fire where eight Bakersfield police officers suffered smoke inhalation.
Police say 29-year-old Brian Moore set fire to his apartment in the 3500 block of South H Street on April 12. Officers who were called to check the welfare of a suicidal man suffered smoke inhalation.
Moore faced attempted murder and other charges, but pleaded no contest to arson and obstruction charges.
He is set to be sentenced on Aug. 16.
