Pets available for adoption at Sunday’s Kern County Animal Services Pet Fair

News

You have a chance to give a shelter animal a new home Sunday during Kern County Animal Services’ Pet Fair.

Director Nick Cullen says they plan to bring up to 40 dogs from different agencies.

He says those pups may include some of those rescued from a Tehachapi man’s home where Animal Services seized nearly 150 dogs.

Cullen says more than 70 animals were adopted last year. In fact, Cullen says, the only problem was they didn’t have enough.

The Pet Fair is Sunday, April 22 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Kern County Fairgrounds on P Street in Bakersfield inside Building 3.

The event is free.
