BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian dead Thursday night in south Bakersfield.

The collision was reported on South Chester Avenue near Southgate Drive at around 7:50 p.m., according to CHP’s Traffic Incident Information Page.

Officers have shut down southbound traffic on South Chester Avenue for the investigation.
