A new business in Bakersfield celebrated its grand opening this weekend by doing some good.
Confetti Pinata Party, located at 600 Union Ave, held a clothing drive for the homeless.
They gathered blankets, coats and other warm clothing to give away.
The store’s owners teamed up with Faith Street BBQ Ministries for the drive. The ministry says although the holiday season has ended, the season of giving should be year round.
“There’s not a specific date when the need ends, let’s open our eyes, it’s constant,” said Manny Villanueva with Faith Street.
Villanueva says he has only known the owners for a short time, but was moved by their own story of overcoming their struggles.
