An Oxnard police officer remains in the hospital, four months after an on-duty crash in Kern County.

The Oxnard Police Department said Officer James Langford is still recovering from serious head trauma.

He was first being treated at Kern Medical but has also had rehabilitation therapy at a Los Angeles-area hospital.

Langford crashed during a training exercise on Highway 58 near the San Luis Obispo County line on Sept. 26, 2017.

Langford has been with the Oxnard Police Department for 12 years.
