Over $5 million worth of marijuana seized near Rosamond

Five people were arrested and over $5 million of marijuana was seized by several local agencies over the weekend. 

On Friday, investigators located 2,508 marijuana plants with estimated street value of $5.27 million, 30 pounds of processed marijuana with estimated street value of $21,000 and four guns, Kern County Sheriff’s Office announced Monday. As a result, five people were arrested for various drug charges relating to the cultivation of marijuana: 

  • Alejandro Ramirez, 25
  • Josua Flores Santos, 27
  • Jose Garcia, 41
  • Adam Garcia, 20
  • Lena Makshanoff, 71

Investigators also located illegal pesticides that can cause environmental hazards, according to KSCO. 

California Department of Fish and Wildlife, Southern Tri-County High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Narcotics Task Force (STC-HIDTA), deputies with Kern County Sheriff’s Office East Division Substations, and officers from the Kern County Probation Department assisted in the search warrants.
