Officials identified a woman killed while crossing Union Avenue as 66-year-old Nancy Orlynn Szepfalvi.

Szapfalvi was the first pedestrian killed in Kern County in 2018.

She was hit by a vehicle on Jan. 10 in the 1600 block of Union Avenue at about 1 p.m. She was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said she was  crossing the roadway outside of a crosswalk.

Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision according to police.

Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
